Painting Pets with Personality

Griffact:
Emily is also a professional Faux Finisher, you can incorporate a finish into the backgound of your oil painting for a "faux paws".

Last year we experienced the devastating loss of our beloved lab Clay. On Christmas morning my husband surprised me with this amazing portrait of him. Somehow from just photos Emily had been able to capture the very essence of Clay. Every quality that we loved was there. His kind, loving eyes, the sweet way he held his stuffed dog in his mouth, the look of unconditional love immortalized forever on canvas. In creating this portrait Emily has shared her unique gift with us and everyone who sees it. We will be forever grateful.

After studying art in college, my career path led to Hollywood, where I spent several years in the entertainment industry before rediscovering my inner artist when I painted my beloved parti-poodle, Gracie. I soon left show biz behind and moved to the Atlanta area and became a fulltime artist, drawing and painting pets for people who love them as much as I love Gracie.

I have a bachelor’s degree from Florida Southern College with an emphasis in Art, and in my perpetual quest to perfect my technique, I am an eternal student. I have a pet portraiture diploma from the London Art College with “Distinction”. I studied at Atlanta College of Art and continue my training at DiDimizio's Old World of Art. I use only the finest archival quality paints and canvases and strive to ensure that every portrait is artistically genuine, aesthetically pleasing, and reflects my deep passion and respect for animals.

I am so fortunate to have a dream job that is also spiritually rewarding: I love the entire process of getting to know people and their animals, and preserving forever someone’s much-loved companion.  Out of my own love for animals, I get in there and connect with your pet to capture its personality and spirit on canvas. It is important to me to give you the best portrait possible; I want you to fall in love with your pet all over again and feel the unconditional love radiating from the animal’s soul.
